Limited availability of work computers – order only if critical
DTU is currently unable to receive new work computers from HP, and our stock is therefore very limited. Only request a new computer if it is essential for you to perform your work.
DTU is currently unable to receive new work computers from HP, and our stock is therefore very limited. The reason is a global shortage of RAM components, driven by rapidly increasing demand from AI and data centres.
Please only order a new work computer if it is critical for your ability to perform your tasks.
If your work computer is not working
If you experience issues with your work computer, you can contact the IT Support, who will help find the best possible solution under the current circumstances. In many cases, problems can be resolved without replacing the computer. This may include:
- cleaning dust from the computer
- replacing thermal paste
- upgrading memory where possible
- reinstalling and optimising the existing computer
At the same time, AIT is working on alternative technical solutions to reduce the need for RAM-intensive setups.
Therefore, the IT Support prioritises repair over replacement and at the same time contributes to DTU’s sustainability efforts by extending the lifespan of equipment.
