Information from Greater Copenhagen Light Rail
Background and current status:
In 2024, the major construction work on most of the route in Lyngby, including the area at DTU, was largely completed. This included the reconstruction of roadways, bicycle lanes, and sidewalks.
Some minor adjustments are still pending, and in 2024, particular focus has been on completing rail installation at intersections, which has led to significant traffic changes at times.
The remaining work in Lyngby (including the DTU area) includes:

In autumn 2024, Greater Copenhagen Light Rail announced that the northern section of the light rail project (including DTU) is facing technical construction challenges, which have caused delays. The northern stretch from Rødovre Nord to Lundtofte (DTU) is now expected to open in the summer of 2026.

What does this mean for you who live or travel in the area?
If you live near or pass through the construction area, you may experience periodic noise from the work.
Work will be carried out during regular working hours, which in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality are weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., and possibly Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Although we do our best to minimize disruptions, it is unavoidable that you may experience traffic diversions, longer travel times, and noise if you live or work near the construction site.
