Bank account
Employees are required to open an account with a Danish bank into which their salary will be paid. To open a bank account, a Danish CPR number and MitID (personal identification number) are required.
Please make sure to ask the bank to set up the bank account as a “Nemkonto” (Easy account) You can find more information about Nemkonto here.
Please note that the opening of a bank account can take several weeks. DTU will pay out your salary to your foreign bank account until you have an account with a Danish bank.
You can find more information about opening a bank account in the Welcome Guide.
Please note that if you are a non-EU/EEA-national and hold a work- and residence permit, it is in most cases a requirement that you open a Danish bank account within 3 months after arriving in Denmark. Please find more information here.
