Reuse of Furniture Moves to DTU Serviceportal
From now on, you must use the DTU Service Portal if you want to give or receive reused furniture at DTU. At the same time, DTU units will in the future pay a handling fee to receive reused furniture.
Over the past few years, several thousand desks, office chairs, and other furniture have changed hands at DTU. To keep up with the growing demand, Campus Service will systematize the reuse process. Therefore, Campus Service has decided that the following will take effect:
1. Reuse of furniture will take place via the DTU Service Portal
2. DTU units must pay a handling fee when receiving reused furniture
3. It is free for DTU units to have furniture suitable for reuse collected
Handling fee creates predictable financial framework
There have always been costs associated with reuse. The new element is that DTU units will pay a handling fee covering Campus Service’s expenses for suppliers responsible for transport, setup, and any refurbishment. The aim is to create more predictability and consistency in the finances. The focus remains on ensuring that reuse is still cheaper than buying new. When you order reused furniture via the DTU Service Portal, you will receive a price immediately.
Free pick-up makes it attractive to give to reuse
If you have surplus furniture that Campus Service deems suitable for reuse, you can have it collected free of charge. This also happens via the DTU Service Portal.
6-month test period
The new procedure and financial structure will be tested for a period of 6 months, after which adjustments may be made.
See the new reuse form here.
If you have any questions, you can submit them via the DTU Service Portal by selecting ‘Ask a question’ at the top of the reuse form which you can always find by entering 'Reuse' in the search field.
Best regards,
Allan Murphy, Operations Manager
Henrik Liebach, Administration Manager
and Anders Møller, Campus Director,
