Unity co-founder David Helgason visits DTU Skylab

On Tuesday 20 October, he will talk about the journey from founder to investor, and why he is backing start-ups that build in the real world

DTU Skylab hosts David Helgason, co-founder of Unity and now a partner at Transition Ventures, for a founder journey talk at 12:00.

Helgason co-founded Unity in Copenhagen in 2004 and was the company’s CEO for 12 years. Today, he invests in start-ups from the earliest stages through Transition Ventures. Among its investments is the DTU spin-out Reel, where Transition Ventures took part in the 2026 Series A round.

In an informal conversation, Helgason will talk about the Unity years, his move from founder to investor, and why he wants to invest in companies building in the real world.

The conversation is for students, researchers, founders and anyone at DTU thinking about starting a company.

After a moderated discussion and Q&A, there will be time to mingle over a bite to eat.
