Teaching facilities in TimeEdit
In TimeEdit – Viewer, you can get an overview of activities in shared teaching facilities. Here, you can see which departments, courses, and course responsibles are using the rooms during the current semester. The user interface is in English.

Getting started
- Go to www.timeedit.net/dtu.
- Log in with DTU SSO (single sign-on) using your DTU email address and personal password.
- From the three options on the page, select either “staff” or “student”, depending on your role.
Find activities and bookings
- To get an overview of activities in teaching facilities (e.g. courses or course responsible) select “schedule/booking overview”.
- Under “search”, use the drop-down menu to choose the desired search criteria.
- Click “show filter” to narrow your search.
- Click “show schedule” to view the results of your search.
Layout
Use the layout button in the bottom-right corner to choose whether the schedule is displayed as text lines or a graphical calendar.
Get an overview of how and when you can book rooms, and what is required.
- You can only book centrally allocated teaching areas in TimeEdit
- For department rooms, computer labs, and halls, contact the responsible unit directly
When can you book?
Rooms are released when teaching, recurring events, and maintenance have been scheduled. You cannot book teaching rooms while AUS is allocating rooms for teaching.
- Rooms are typically released in the second week of the teaching period
- June, July, and August are considered one combined teaching period
- You can only book within the current semester. Click here for an overview of the academic year.
Once rooms are released, booking follows a first-come, first-served principle.
Required information
When booking, you must provide:
- Type of activity
- Name of the event
- Your email and phone number
- Organizer’s name and phone number (if not you)
IMPORTANT: You must accept the booking terms for safety and emergency reasons.
Changes, cancellations, and swaps
- AUS/CAS has the authority to relocate your booking if necessary. In such cases, an alternative room will be offered.
- Want to swap rooms? You must contact the person who booked the room.
- If you no longer need the room, you must cancel your booking.
Sanctions
Failure to follow the rules may result in:
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent exclusion from the booking system
Only book what you need. Provide accurate information and remember to cancel if your plans change.
Book a teaching space
- Log in at https://www.timeedit.net/dtu and select "staff" or "student" depending on your role at DTU.
- Under "Room booking and request (centrally allocated rooms)", choose the booking page.
Make sure to select the correct page based on the time of your booking and the room type that you need.

Definitions
- Direct booking: Book instantly without approval
- Request: Submit a booking request that must be approved
- GR (group rooms): Smaller rooms for group work (students only for direct booking)
In short: Your role (staff/student) and the time determine whether you can book directly or need to submit a request.
DTU has nearly 300 centrally allocated teaching facilities. Get familiar with them to choose the best location for your activity.
1. Choose your entry point
- Click “staff” or “student”.
- Your login gives you access to the relevant page.
2. Open the room overview
- Under “Search and overview”, select “Room overview”.
3. Search for room(s)
For example, filter by:
- Building
- One or more rooms
- Room type
- Capacity / number of seats
4. Select room(s)
- Select the rooms that match your needs. They will automatically appear under “My criteria” on the right.
5. View results
- Click “Show” to see the final overview.
