Welcome to the new DTU Inside

Most of the general content (approximately 4,000 pages) has been migrated to a new, updated platform with an improved information architecture. The six main entry points from the previous site have been expanded to eleven menu items on the new site, which should make it easier to find the right entry point for what you are looking for. As part of the migration, some content has been deleted, edited, relocated, or temporarily put on hold pending further clarification. Overall, this should result in a better user experience, but it will also require some adjustment (and fine-tuning). Below is a FAQ with answers to some of the most common questions.

FAQ

DTU Inside does not require login to view the front page. As a result, it is not possible to present a personalised link to your specific local unit. Instead, use the global menu to access ‘Departments and offices’, where links to all units are available.
We expect to be able to launch a search function within a couple of weeks. As on DTU’s external websites, search results will be delivered via Google’s index. Because the content has not yet been indexed by Google at launch, the search function cannot be activated immediately. In the meantime, you can use the index on the front page.
The box functions as an editor-managed index with selected shortcuts to frequently visited content, systems, and other resources. It is not intended to include everything, but if you for example are wondering where the link to Fusion is, try clicking "F" or use the search field...
If you know which administrative department provided the content you are looking for, please contact them directly. All administrative departments have been involved in rebuilding DTU Inside, and in most cases the subject editors are best placed to help. If you are unsure, you can always contact the web team in AKM via the contact form: https://forms.bluecatreports.com/an2BGfFN/nyt-dtu-inside.
The old content has not been deleted, but traffic is redirected to the new site to avoid parallel information that would quickly become out of sync. Editors who previously had access to the content can still access it via the editing system, but regular users do not have access.
No. Although the front page and most of the new content are open to everyone, some areas still require login. These are marked with a padlock on access-restricted pages or files. The access restriction is simple: if you have an active DTU profile (as an employee or student), you can access the content; otherwise, you cannot. Note: Local content is still covered by the old login. There are no changes to the access restrictions for this content.
The messaging technology has been completely redesigned. The old messaging system was closely integrated with the general content editing system and no longer performed optimally. In connection with the launch of DTU Inside, a standalone application has therefore been developed to handle this part of DTU Inside’s logic. You can read more about this in the general guide to messages and in the writing guide for those who need to create messages.
DTU Inside is no longer personalised, and it is therefore not possible to create shortcuts in the new DTU Inside. Existing shortcuts can still be accessed when using Inside-local for local content. In the longer term, it is recommended that shortcuts are moved to the browser or other personal software, as we do not currently expect to develop this functionality in DTU Inside.
Yes, the first version of a new type of phone directory is on the way. We expect to be able to launch it within a few weeks. Until then, please refer to the phone directory on dtu.dk: https://www.dtu.dk/english/search?area=samesite&entity=persons

Known issues

  • Dead links: Many pages have been moved, and it will therefore take some time to reconnect internal links correctly.
  • Missing English content: Some pages have not yet been updated with English content.
