Choose your AI tool
AIT offers a range of AI tools. If you use AI tools that AIT has not reviewed, you must pay special attention to data security and what information you share with the AI tool.
The AI-tools listed below are approved by AIT.
Copilot Chat is available to all at DTU, both employees and students, and is based on the latest models from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.
Like all AI, Copilot Chat is evolving rapidly, and new features and capabilities are continuously added. Copilot Chat is now integrated into the M365 Office programs, so it can, for example, respond based on your open email or Word file without you having to copy/paste into the chat.
Copilot Chat is safe to use when you are logged in with your DTU account and see the green shield. DTU has a data processing agreement with Microsoft.
Copilot 365 is the “big brother” compared to Copilot Chat and therefore requires an additional license.
Copilot 365 integrates generative AI directly into the Microsoft 365 platform, allowing you to automate and optimize tasks across Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. This means it has access to all your cloud data, such as emails and calendars from Outlook, notes from OneNote, files from OneDrive, and shared documents from SharePoint and Teams sites.
Based on a prompt, it can draft entire documents in Word, analyze data in Excel, and suggest text for meeting invitations in Outlook - all using the data you can access with your DTU account.
Is Copilot 365 right for you?
Practical information
A license must be approved by your immediate manager, as the unit pays for the license.
Before the license can be activated, the employee must have completed and passed the mandatory e‑learning course on Copilot 365 onboarding. You are welcome to attend the course while waiting for the license to be purchased. Your license will not work until the e‑learning course has been completed successfully.
Questions or license purchases for Copilot 365 are handled via the DTU Service Portal under the category “Ordering a license for Microsoft 365”.
Currently, Copilot Studio is in a trial phase, but if you have a strong use case, you can contact IT Innovation in AIT through IT Support to participate in testing the tool.
