Publication
DTU has an obligation to share our knowledge with the surrounding society. The individual researcher can only to a limited extent be imposed restrictions in relation to the publication right and obligation. The starting point is that we shall always be able to make public and publish our own background and foreground knowledge.
Only in the case of commissioned research can we accept restrictions in relation to our right to make public and publish. In this case, it is often agreed that publishing can only take place upon agreement with the orderer/the company.
When a PhD student enters into a cooperation, it is important to be aware that only the published parts of a PhD thesis are taken into account in connection with the assessment, and that the PhD defence shall be public. You can read more about this in the PhD Guide.
