Look up (from your phone) – Test runs of the light rail on Lyngby Campus are about to begin
The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail will begin test runs next week. You can continue to move safely on the roads and paths that cross the light rail. The most important thing is to look carefully.
“Look up (from your phone) – and stay safe when crossing the light rail tracks on campus.” This is DTU's Occupational Health and Safety Department's main message as the light rail is about to start running.
On Monday, March 16, the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail will begin test runs between Rødovre Nord and Lundtofte. Initially, trains will only run during the day, but soon they will also run in the evening. The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail will continue test runs until its opening in August.
It is important to cross the tracks at pedestrian crossings, and respect signs and traffic lights. The traffic lights will turn red for crossing traffic when the light rail crosses a road or passes through an intersection. In other words, the same traffic rules apply as usual.
General advice from the Capital Region Light Rail:

What is the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail testing?
During the test period, the trains will undergo a series of tests, including acceleration, breaking distance, safety equipment, and other driving characteristics. This will ensure that the track switches are working and that the traction power supply is delivering the correct power. Finally, the traffic lights must also be working and adjusted. The Capital Region Light Rail is therefore also using the test runs to familiarize itself with the route and plan how to navigate the intersections.
