Bike to Ballerup Campus on a Shared E-bike

It is now possible to travel between Lyngby Campus and Ballerup Campus by shared bike. The shared bikes from Dott are electric and can also be ridden to other locations shown in Dott’s app.

In 2024–2025, DTU Campus Service tested electric shared bikes on Lyngby Campus in collaboration with, among others, the Capital Region of Denmark and the provider Dott. Following a successful trial, the scheme is now being expanded.

User-friendly shared bike parking at Lyngby Campus

During the first approximately 14 months of the trial, 6,645 shared bike trips were made to or from Lyngby Campus. Data indicates that students in particular benefit from the flexibility offered by the shared bikes. The system works so that shared bikes can only be parked in designated areas. To meet demand, additional shared bike parking spaces will be established at Lyngby Campus, allowing more users to park close to their destination.

Shared bikes at Ballerup Campus

In cooperation with the Capital Region of Denmark and Ballerup Municipality, Campus Service is now testing whether there is also a user base for shared bikes in Ballerup. Two shared bike parking areas with space for up to 20 bikes have been established at Ballerup Campus.

Read more about the shared bikes and get started by downloading the Dott app, where you can also view a map of the locations.
