Messages to employees at DTU
Reminder - The new timesheet layout will now be standard in DTU Fusion
From 1st of March, DTU will switch to using only the new matrix view of timesheets.
Until then, there will be a transition period, where you as users have the opportunity to enter your current timesheet via both the new and the old view.
The matrix view of your timesheet was introduced last year as an optional option to get a new view for time registration. With this new view, you quickly get an overview of your hours distributed by project, and it makes it easier to compare your reported hours with your planned hours and spot any deviations.
The old standard view is no longer supported by the system supplier, so to ensure stability and minimize the risk of system errors, DTU will now switch to using only the new matrix view for timesheets.
To ensure a safe transition, it will still be possible to use the old view for a short period of time to enter your current timesheet -> "Current Time Card (Old view)".
From the 1st of March 2026, it will no longer be possible to access the old view of timesheets.
The overview of existing timesheets and the option to add a timesheet in addition to the current one will already be transferred to the new view by default.
In the new view, you will be able to create a template with the projects and tasks you often work on, making it both easy and quick to fill in timesheets. This feature is not turned on yet, but it is just around the corner and is expected to be ready before the transition on the 1st of March.
You can find more information about entering and approving timesheets, including a video guide for the new view here on Inside – please disregard the guides on activating the new view, as this is now enabled by default.
3 good tips for timesheets:
Here are three tips for your timesheet in Fusion:
- Remember that if you enter absence (e.g. illness) directly in the timesheet, you must NOT put the project number and task on it.
- Remember that you can save your timesheet along the way, so you can return and register continuously during the month - and remember to submit the timesheet at the end of the month.
- Finally, reach out to your local super user, if you need help on how to register your hours – and remember that you can find information about the timesheet here on DTU Inside, including this news that gives a really good insight into the importance of time registration.
