Messages to employees at DTU

New version of DTU Inside launches on 26 January

In just over a week, a new version of DTU Inside will go live. The relaunch introduces an updated design, a revised structure, and optimised content, all intended to make it easier and more straightforward to find the right internal information.

As part of the redevelopment of DTU Inside, a large proportion of the content has been reviewed, updated, and streamlined, so that DTU Inside appears more relevant and – hopefully – more user-friendly for everyone.

Initially, the relaunch covers all general content on DTU Inside. Local content from institutes and departments will be migrated in a later phase.

As something new, large parts of DTU Inside will in future be publicly accessible. Content that should only be available internally at DTU may still be restricted to staff and students with a DTU login. Restricted content will be visually marked with a padlock on DTU Inside.

A help area will be established on the new DTU Inside, bringing together guides and contact information, making it easy to find explanations and guidance on all the new elements.

------

Below are some of the things to be particularly aware of in connection with the relaunch:

Local content: To find your institute or department on the new DTU Inside, use the global menu’s overview of institutes and departments and follow the link to your unit. If you have bookmarked your local page, you will automatically be redirected to the new address.

Announcements: The DTU Inside front page will no longer show a personalised feed of announcements, but instead display all general announcements for all staff. Your personal overview will be available via a new announcements platform.

Personal subscriptions and email notifications: All information lists related to the general content on DTU Inside (e.g. “Announcements for all staff” and “Messages and alerts”) will be moved to the new announcements platform. If you have previously activated email notifications and subscribed to lists, you will need to set these up again.

What about the old content? No content will be deleted, but a large proportion will only be accessible to Sitecore editors with backend access. If you are unsure where specific content is now located, please contact the subject-matter owners to clarify where it has been placed. You are also welcome to contact the AKM web team.

Search: When the new DTU Inside goes live, the search function will not be immediately available. We are waiting for Google to index the content. Once this has been confirmed, the internal search will be activated, using Google’s index and search technology.

------
Considerable effort has gone into tidying up and establishing a better information architecture across the administrative departments. Approximately 4,000 pages have been moved, and intensive work is ongoing up to the launch to update links, etc. Nevertheless, not everything will necessarily be fully in place on the launch day, but we are doing our best to ensure that everything works as smoothly as possible.
