Administrative support to summer/winter schools
From an administrative point of view, PhD summer and winter schools differ from DTU’s ordinary courses regarding course fee, and the mixed group of participants consisting of both PhD students and non-student participants from universities or industry.
Please note, that the chosen way of handling the following aspects all influence each other:
- Registration of participants (both PhD students and non-students)
- Information on guest PhD students to AUS (prior to or after the course, with a list or the registration form from DTU.dk)
- Information on guest PhD students to AUS (prior to or after the course, with a list or the registration form from DTU.dk)
- Registration sign-up for the course (through the Study planner or at the department)
- Platform of communication with participants before and during the summer school (DTU Learn, Sharepoint or other)

Important information about the administration of participants in summer/winter schools
PhD students and guest PhD students as participants handled by AUS
Please note, that AUS handles registrations for PhD students. They also handle registration of course results for PhD students and guest PhD students. Course certificates/diplomas for participants from industry or universities who are non-students, must be handled by the department or Learn for Life.
Non-student participants from universities or industry handled by department or Learn for Life
There are two options for handling registrations from non-student participants from universities or industry.
At the department
Registration of non-student participants from industry or universities may be handled by the department. Most departments choose to register participants through Conference Manager.
The department must also provide a diploma of participation for non-students.
Please do not issue course certificates/diplomas for DTU’s own PhD students or guest PhD students, without consulting AUS.
