How to register students for PhD course participation

Courses where students sign up in the Study planner

If the course responsible has decided that registration for the course should be made through the Study planner, it is the students themselves who sign up.

All registered students will be added to the course page at DTU Learn.
If a student has not signed up for the classes before the deadline, the student should instead sign up for the exam.

Courses where students sign up with the teacher/department

If the course responsible has decided that registration for the course should be made to them or to another contact person at the department, the teaching will not be supported by the central systems and the course will not appear at DTU Learn.

Guest PhD students

Guest PhD students participating in the course should register as guest PhD students. When guest students are registered, they will get a student number at DTU and are registered for courses where students sign up in the Study planner.

New PhD students

Newly started PhD students sometimes have to wait a little while for their student number. Without a student number, they cannot sign up for courses. In most cases it should be possible to either to register when the study planner is open for late registration.
