Support for students with disabilities
As a lecturer at DTU, you will encounter students with disabilities. In 2026, approximately one in ten students at DTU receive special educational support (SPS).
Chronic disabilities may include dyslexia, mental health condition, developmental disorder, neurological impairment, or physical disability.
Every disability is different, and the challenges experienced by these students therefore vary. These may include fatigue, sensitivity to sensory input, difficulty interpreting social situations, attention-related difficulties, and more.
Under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Danish Act on Prohibition against Discrimination, DTU is required to support students with disabilities throughout their education. This also applies to adjustments in the teaching setting.
