DTU's comprehensive collection of guides is available at learnsupport.dtu.dk.

1. Regular and predictable communication

Use Announcements to communicate important information and updates such as weekly activities, deadlines and changes to your students.

2. Clear course entry and orientation

Provide a clear entry point where students can understand how the course is organized and how to get started. Essential information such as course structure, schedule and practical details should be easy to find. Students should quickly be able to orient themselves and navigate in the course.

3. Clear titles and instructions

Use descriptive and consistent titles so students can easily identify materials and activities. Provide clear instructions that explain what students need to do.

4. Logical and consistent structure

Organize course content by week or topic and present materials in the order students are expected to use them. Use a consistent structure throughout the course and avoid unnecessary complexity. A clear structure supports students in following the course.

5. Content as the central hub

Use Content as the primary access point for course materials and activities. Learning materials, assignments and relevant links should be available through Content. It can be as modules, pages, links, files, embeds, videos etc. Students should be able to follow the course without needing to search in multiple places.

6. Use the DTU supported learning tools

DTU offers different learning tools that support your teaching. As an example upload all your videos to Panopto, use Feedback Fruits Peer Review for online peer activities, ThingLink for interactive pictures, Vevox for class polling etc.

7. Anonymity setting

Consider enabling the anonymity setting when using discussions. Anonymity can encourage broader participation and may support more honest feedback and a wider range of perspectives. This can help give a more accurate understanding of student’s views and understandings.

8. Transparent feedback and assessment

Provide feedback through course activities, preferably directly within each activity tool. Only use the Grades tool after completing the grading self-paced course.

9. Accessible and reliable materials

Ensure that all modules and pages are accessible by using the accessibility checker, and keep all materials updated so students always have the correct and updated information.

10. Use appropriate group settings

When using self-enrolment groups in the course, remember to set an enrolment Expiry Date that is prior to the assignment Due Date.
