Frequent flyer points earned during business travel

When you earn bonus points in connection with business travel, the points belong to DTU. They may therefore only be used for purchasing flights for future business travel - never for private use.

It is important that you use any earned points and discounts when booking travel to ensure that DTU’s costs are kept as low as possible. Frequent flyer points are linked to the individual employee’s profile and are managed directly by the airlines.

As an employee, you are responsible for retaining documentation of earned and redeemed points for five years, as DTU carries out spot checks to ensure proper use.

This is in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance circular on bonus points: Finansministeriets cirkulære om bonuspoint (CIR nr. 9819 af 4/11/2009).
