Must fill in, print, sign, scan and send this Word version of the agreement to medialabrights@dtu.dk

In short, the agreement states that you give DTU permission to use the recording of your performance at its discretion – without any restrictions. This right does not restrict your own right to use the recording of  your performance as you please.

The recording as such is owned by DTU, but as you can see below, you have the right to use it.

The agreement also states that DTU may publish the recording of your performance under a so-called ”Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives (by-nc-nd)” Creative Commons licence, which means that others (including yourself) may use the recording, but they must mention your name, they may not modify the recording and they may not use it commercially.

In addition, you promise that the material used in your performance is either your own, or that you have been granted permission to use it (select A or B). In both cases, you give DTU permission to record and publish the material.

There may be parts of your material to which you have no rights. You can describe these parts in the agreement, and in that case, DTU shall remove them before publishing the recording.

Assign: Means handing over a right to another person/entity so that the right is transferred to this person/entity (in this case DTU).

Non-exclusively: Means that you can still freely use your material as you please, even though you have granted DTU the right to use it. However, you cannot deprive DTU of this right, for instance by selling the material exclusively to a third party.

The Recording: Means the recording of your performance. The recording is owned by DTU, but the Creative Commons licence we provide it with means that you, as well as everybody else, may use it (on the same conditions).

Temporal and geographical restrictions:
These restrictions have been inserted in the agreement to underline that there is no restrictions as to for how long or where DTU may use the recording of your material.

Royalties (fees paid for commercial exploitation of something owned by another person/entity holding the copyright): It appears from the agreement that the right to the recording of  this performance is assigned to DTU free of charge.

Modifications: DTU may change the recording in any way it deems necessary.

Warrant and represent: Legal terms for ”I promise”.

Disputes: If we disagree about the interpretation of the agreement, the case can be brought before the District Court of Lyngby that will examine and settle the case.
