The debate lives on at DTU

Contribution to Academic Council Debate Forum by DTU's president Anders Bjarklev.

And fortunately, it does so in many places at DTU. One of the latest initiatives is the Academic Council's new debate forum. A forum where we can focus on topics across DTU that make us want to engage in discussions and debates with each other. The debate makes us smarter, and it is in the spirit of the university that everyone who can and wants to contribute their perspectives to prepare our university for the future.

It is in this same spirit that DTU’s Board of Directors and Executive Board asked all DTU employees in the spring to provide their input for DTU’s upcoming strategy for 2026–2031. We seek an effective strategy that clearly articulates what DTU aims to achieve and ensures that we continue to benefit people and society. But it must also engage employees and set the direction for the tasks we all perform every day. And that is why it must be based on the contributions and insights of our employees.

It is through joint dialogue that we achieve the best results, and I welcome the new debate forum and the lively conversation that it may foster.
