DTU’s Green Procurement Reference Guide

As support for the work with responsible procurement, Group Procurement has developed DTU’s Green Procurement Reference Guide. The reference guide is Group Procurement’s central tool and provides concrete guidance on how environmental, climate-related, and social sustainability requirements can be integrated into all seven steps of Group Procurement’s sourcing model.

The reference guide contains both practical tools and inspiring examples of how sustainability initiatives can be integrated into procurement and tendering processes, while ensuring competition and compliance with procurement legislation. It includes, among other things:

  • requirements for environmental labels
  • requirements for social sustainability
  • reduction of unwanted chemicals in products
  • take‑back schemes at end of use
  • lifetime extension of products

In addition, the reference guide describes DTU’s standard requirements for recyclable packaging and climate‑friendly transportation, which must, as a starting point, be included in all purchases above DKK 100,000.
