Sustainable Procurement

On these pages, you can get an overview of how DTU works with sustainability in procurement, and how you can contribute to responsible purchasing in your daily work. You will also find references to key tools and guidance that can help you translate ambitions into concrete actions.

When DTU makes purchases, sustainability is an integral part of the decision‑making process and is considered alongside price and quality. This applies both to larger project purchases and to the supplier agreements DTU enters. Through responsible procurement, DTU contributes to a sustainable transition and takes responsibility for the environmental, climate-related, and social impacts of our purchases.

In Gorup Procurement, sustainability requirements are systematically integrated into both project purchases above DKK 100,000 and into DTU’s supplier agreements. The purpose is to support DTU’s overall goal of contributing to a sustainable transition through responsible procurement.

As part of this work, Group Procurement has developed DTU’s Green Procurement Reference Guide. The guide supports the incorporation of sustainability requirements in the procurement process and serves as a shared reference tool for purchasers across DTU.

You can read DTU’s Green Procurement Reference Guide here (in Danish).
