Hygiene at the workplace

Hygiene refers to methods and routines for removing dirt and unwanted contaminants. The goal is to support a good indoor climate and prevent the spread of infections.

DTU provides surface disinfectants and hand sanitizer in common areas – the university units are responsible for this task in own areas. For purchases of hand sanitizer, see more here (link will follow).

The standard of cleaning of own areas is settled locally. Please contact cas-ren@dtu.dk if you have questions.

Indoor Climate

The presence of microorganisms/allergens is minimized through cleaning and venting. In some areas, air circulation can be adjusted via the ventilation system.

Maintain tidiness. Piles of paper and cluttered surfaces not only collect dust but also make cleaning difficult.

Minimizing the Spread of Infection

Other than that good hand hygiene is the most effective and well-documented method to prevent the spread of disease.

During periods of increased illness (such as flu season), it is also a good idea to clean surfaces in kitchens, dining areas, and other places “where many hands touch.” You are always welcome to clean your own workspace, such as your keyboard.

Finally but most importantly: Stay home if you are sick.
