Dialogue about flexibility in everyday life
How you can focus on ensuring study and job satisfaction as well as good performance in your everyday life?
Do you need flexibility in your everyday life? Talk to your supervisor or manager about what is important for your balance?
Involve yourself in the dialogue on flexibility with an awareness that it is individual what makes us thrive, but that dialogue can help us achieve the flexibility that creates a balanced everyday life.
Focus on work performance and less on presence. Agree that you work elsewhere on campus, pool your project assignments, work voluntarily, exercise during the day or do something else that strengthens your well-being.
Except for your scheduled lectures and classes, you have the opportunity as a student to organize your everyday life to support your well-being and learning. Focus on your opportunities for having a flexible and diverse student life.
Study groups can also be used to establish social relations. The study group can be a safe setting for sharing thoughts on well-being, so be curious and ask about your fellow students’ well-being.
Voluntary work, do you feel like helping others via voluntary work and thus experience the joy of giving? Find your next volunteer job on the portal FRIVILLIG JOB DK.
Physical training strengthens the body and can also be fun together with others. At DTU, there are many different associations, check if there any that might interest you on DTU SPORT.
If you need help to start the dialogue on flexibility in everyday life see e.g. DTU's DEI Toolbox or through brancheforeningen for arbejdsmiljø (only in Danish), e.g. Flip Flop Bæredygtigt arbejdsliv.
Ideas for new ways of thinking regarding a sustainable study and working life at DTU are always welcome. Please feel free to contact Polyteknisk Forening (PF student association) or your unit’s HR partner.
