Occupational health and safety coordinator (AMK)
The role of Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator (AMK)
The OHSC is appointed (not elected) by the university unit director to help structure and coordinate OHSC work in ongoing collaboration with the OHSC organization at the university unit.
Strong local collaboration
To strengthen and emphasize the collaboration between the AMK and the cooperation organization, most directors choose that the OHSC is a participant in the local cooperation committee (LSU).
The AMK role encompasses both the physical and psychological AMK
- Coordinates OHSC across the unit on behalf of the director (often in collaboration with the unit's HR partner).
- Works with respect for OHSC work being anchored in the OHSC (OHSC/OHSC) and OHSC groups at the university unit.
- Helps ensure a good OHSC dialogue when working conditions change.
- Is familiar with the broad lines of both the psychological and physical OHSC, and can advise the OHSC organization on this.
- Works closely with local management and occupational health and safety representatives, emergency response leaders, ergonomic ambassadors, and other occupational health and safety professionals.
- Participates in documentation of physical and mental occupational health and safety.
- Coordinates and follows up on regulatory inspections from the Danish Working Environment Authority.
- Assists in handling occupational accidents and emergency incidents
The role as AMK provides the opportunity to gain:
- Greater knowledge of your university unit.
- Close collaboration with local management in relation to working environment.
- Experience of working in a coordinating role.
- Knowledge of working environment and understanding of the work in this area in the local working environment organization.
- Insight into the work of the working environment and cooperation organization at DTU, as well as relevant university policies.
- Knowledge sharing and exchange of experiences in DTU's Working Environment Coordinator Network.
The role as AMK is through appointment (can be done on an ongoing basis)
AMK is appointed by the director of the university unit to help strengthen the dialogue about and coordinate working environment. Please note that DTU recommends avoiding overlap between working environment roles. Therefore, DTU recommends that AMK is not also elected as an employee working environment representative (AMR), because this may involve a conflict of interest.
