Hand sanitizer
Use and application
Hand hygiene is a means of limiting the spread of infection. Using hand sanitizer is one way to disinfect hands – washing hands is another and equally effective method.
The advantage of hand washing is that it minimizes exposure to chemicals; the advantage of hand sanitizer is its ease of placement and accessibility.
As a pregnant and/or breastfeeding woman, it is recommended to use hand sanitizer when possible.
Alcohol dries out the skin, and a cracked skin is not only uncomfortable but also more difficult to clean and more prone to infection. It is therefore recommended to use hand sanitizer with glycerol. Using a good, rich hand cream will minimize the risk of dry or cracked skin.
