Job Posting Rules and Advertising

Posting of technical and administrative staff member positions is regulated by the "Executive Order on Posting of Civil Service Positions in the State (Opslagsbekendtgørelsen)" (only in danish) and the "Circular on Posting of Positions and Paid Assignments in the State" (only in danish).

Decision-making authority
  • All positions below salary grade 37 can be decided at department level.
  • All positions from salary grade 37 and above must be approved by the President and the HR Director.
  • All positions in Administration, including Campus Service and Finance Centres, must be approved by the University Director.
Obligation to post

As a general rule, all positions must be publicly posted on DTU Jobs and Career and www.jobnet.dk. In addition, all technical and administrative staff member positions are automatically advertised on www.jobindex.dk and LinkedIn (DTU’s profile – jobs). Postings must be publicly available for at least 14 days.

Exceptions to posting

Posting may be omitted in connection with holiday cover, temporary positions, and other short-term employment not exceeding one year.

Management may allow employees to transfer to a vacant, equivalent position for development and new challenges. It is up to the manager to decide whether a vacant position should be posted or whether the managerial prerogative should be used to transfer the employee internally. The conditions are that the employee transfers to a new position and already holds a permanent employment contract at DTU. The salary for the new position is determined according to the standard rules in the collective agreement.
In these cases, we follow the SKI agreement (Statens og Kommunernes Indkøbsaftale). Read more about the agreement and contact information for the agency here.

As mentioned above, all technical and administrative staff member positions are advertised on DTU Jobs and Career, as well as on www.jobindex.dk, www.jobnet.dk, and LinkedIn.

If it is considered difficult to attract the right candidate, an external recruitment agency may be used.
