Election at DTU
In November, elections will be held at DTU. This is your chance to make a difference and help shape DTU's future—either by running for a position yourself or by voting for the person you want to represent you.
This year, elections will be held for:
- Academic Council: 3 student representatives for 1 year, 8 members of the scientific staff for 3 years
- DTU's Board: 1 student representative for 2 years
- Department Study Board: student representatives for 1 year, members of the scientific staff for 3 years
- PhD Committee: PhD representatives for 1 year, members of the scientific staff for 3 year
Election schedule
- September 21, 2026: Election called
- October 4, 2026, at 12:00 PM: Deadline for changing affiliation to department
- November 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM: Deadline for registering candidates for the election
- November 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM: Election of representatives
- November 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM: Voting system closes
- November 23, 2026: Publication of election results

Check Your Affiliation on DTUbase
Whether you plan to vote or wish to run for a position, you must first verify that you are affiliated with the correct department and listed with the appropriate title in DTUbase.
According to the election rules, DTU students can freely choose which Department Study Board they wish to vote for or run in.
Check if your information in DTUbase is correct. (If you are PhD student you need your local DTUbase administrator to help you.)
You can make changes in DTUbase until Sunday, 4 October, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
How Can You Run for a Position?
The election will be conducted electronically. It is within the same election system that you can register as a candidate. This can be done from 19 October to 2 November at 12:00 PM, when the system will close.
To be eligible to run as a candidate, you need three supporters to back your candidacy (essentially yourself plus two others). When you register in the system, you must enter the email addresses of your two supporters. They will then need to confirm the email they receive from the system before you are officially eligible to run.
If you are running on the same electoral list with two or more others, you can support each other’s candidacies.
