Innovation Fund Denmark
Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD - Innovationsfonden) accelerates Danish research and innovation for solutions to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of Danish society.
The IFD provides funding to public and private organisations through:
- Grand solutions. Collaborative projects including end-user/industry in a public-private partnership. These projects have a high risk profile where significant investments are needed to create concrete, groundbreaking results. The projects must have a clear societal or economic potential.
- Industrial researcher. The Industrial Researcher programme provides the opportunity to carry out a research project where a candidate (as a PhD student or postdoc) works closely with both a company and a public research institution. This combines new knowledge and concrete challenges, and the result is value-creation for all parties.
- International collaborations. Through a number of EU, Nordic and global collaborations, these projects that create new knowledge and innovation with global impact via co-funded or bilateral agreements.
- Innomissions. Denmark has been awarded four green mission-driven research and innovation partnerships, which will make us a green leading country. The four green partnerships bring together the country's top researchers, companies and organizations to bring Denmark to the forefront in the field of storage and use of CO2, Power-to-X, climate- and environment-friendly agriculture and food production, as well as a circular economy with a focus on plastics and textiles.
- Innoexplorer. This program helps to mature early entrepreneurial ideas so that they are ready for the market or can attract additional investment. The program supports projects in a pre-commercial phase, where the purpose is to clarify and develop the idea's business potential - not to finance further basic research or commercial activities such as test sales or marketing.
- Innofounder. This is a 12-month full-time course for entrepreneurs with a higher education. The purpose of the course is to accelerate the development of innovative entrepreneurial ideas from the early stages to a stage where the company becomes financially sustainable - either through sales or by raising additional public or private investment
