Technical protective equipment
When handling chemicals, the chemical risk assessment must specify the appropriate technical protective equipment to be used, in order to provide the best protection. Typically, ordinary fume hoods are used at DTU, but there are special fume hoods which are more suitable for handling e.g. strong acids or larger amounts of flammable chemicals. In the menu at the bottom of the page is a scheme that can inspire you, when selecting your technical protective equipment.
Once you have decided which one to use, you can find it by following the labels on the individual hoods. (All hoods should be labeled by 2023, as Campus Service has started labeling the hoods, at the annual inspection).
In the menu at the bottom of the page, you can find instructions for the use of the individual technical protective equipment, which should also be included in the info box to the right. (Fume hood, EX-fume hood, Acid fume hood, ventilated hood). These instructions will be provided from Campus Service as well.
In the menu below, a video demonstrates how to work correctly in the fume hood.
