Laboratories and workshops

DTU operates with the objective of ensuring a sound and secure work environment to enable employees and students to work /study safely.

DTU have some general rules and safety conditions that must be met for all employees and students, when working experimentally in the field, in chemical-, physical- or genetic engineering laboratories, or in machine workshops. A selection of those general rules and DTU policies is shown in the menu to the left under "laboratories and workshops".

The local health and safety organization may have extended the general rules with local regulations. When you are working / studying at a particular Institute, you need to keep yourself updated on the Institute specific web page. Each department has a security policy that must be met.

DTU cares for your safety - and you are asked to take care of yourself and your colleagues / students / classmates / trainees and guests. You are supposed to be as healthy when you leave DTU, as when you came to work / study at DTU
