Illness during business travel

If you become ill during a business trip, it is important to act quickly and follow the correct procedures. Here you can find information on who to contact, how to handle any related expenses, and what to be aware of if you have a chronic medical condition.

Emergency illness

If your condition is life-threatening, you should immediately contact the emergency services in the country you are visiting.

In the event of illness or injury during a business trip, you should contact:

Europæiske’s Emergency Assistance Centre: +45 70 10 90 30

The service is available 24 hours a day, and you will always receive assistance from a medical professional or a doctor.

Medical treatment and medication

In some cases, you may need to pay for medical treatment or medication yourself. Be sure to keep all receipts so that you can claim reimbursement afterwards.

Chronic or pre-existing medical conditions

If you have a chronic or temporary medical condition that may require treatment during your trip, special rules apply. In some cases, your condition may not be covered by the insurance.

If you are unsure about your coverage, you can request a medical pre-travel assessment from Europæiske’s medical adviser.
The completed form must be submitted to Europæiske no later than 14 days before departure.
