If something goes wrong

If something goes wrong during your business trip, it is important to know what to do and who to contact. Whether you become ill, lose your baggage or experience theft, acting quickly and following the correct procedures can help ensure that expenses and insurance claims are handled smoothly.

What should you do if something goes wrong?

If you become ill or injured, lose your baggage, experience theft or suffer another loss during a business trip, you should contact Europæiske Rejseforsikring as soon as possible. Europæiske handles all claims and determines whether the incident is covered by the insurance.

What to do

  • Contact Europæiske’s Emergency Assistance Centre (+45 70 10 90 30), which is available 24/7.
  • Gather the necessary documentation, such as medical certificates and original receipts for any replacement purchases.
  • If you have used your DTU credit card for replacement purchases, these must be registered as private expenses in DTU Fusion.

Europæiske will assess the claim and determine any compensation in accordance with the insurance terms and conditions. Any compensation and reimbursement of expenses (for example medical treatment costs) will be paid directly to you, not to DTU.

You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to minimise the loss and any related costs wherever possible.

As part of the Danish government’s self-insurance scheme, DTU subsequently reimburses Europæiske Rejseforsikring for the amount paid out.
