Submit a Software Notification

Commercial software

If you have created software with potential for a commercial application (that can generate a revenue), you must fill in a Software Notification Form (SNF) and have your department's innovation responsible person email it to the patent administration office patentadm@dtu.dk.

Once we have received the SNF, the following assessment process will begin:

1. Commercial assessment of opportunity
2. Checking for third party software rights (i.e. academic licenses)
3. Checking for use of “Open Source” components

This will potentially result in a license agreement between DTU and a company.
