Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF - Novo Nordisk Fonden) supports a wide range of projects and initiatives that help to promote human health and the sustainability of society and the planet.
NNF open competition grants are primarily within:
- Bioscience and biomedicine
- Endocrinology and metabolism
- Biotechnology, including, e.g., industrial and environmental biotechnology
- Plant science, agriculture, and food research
- Clinical and translational medicine
- Natural and technical sciences, particularly in fields with potential interdisciplinary application to the life and health sciences and sustainability
- Data Science (with current or potential future application and impact within life science, health science, or sustainability)
You can apply for:
- Project grants
- Postdoctoral fellowships
- Investigator grants, including the NNF NERD
- Grants for recruitment and start packages
- Challenge grants (with annual themes)
- Interdisciplinary synergy grants
- Research infrastructure and instrumentation
- Innovation
The amount and duration of the funding vary according to the specific call. Danish universities can apply for project supplement for research grants, which replaces budget costs such as administrative support, bench fee and parental leave. NNF has deadlines throughout the year.
