My department is being evaluated. What should I know?
Planning your way to a smooth research evaluation
The process takes 10-12 months.
Your department will be summoned for a start-up meeting in October or November a year before the site visit. The site visit will take place in the autumn and you will have a finished evaluation report by winter.
Read more about the time line and planning.
You will make a self-evaluation.
You will have to prepare the panel for their site visit by giving them an insight into what you consider your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT).
The self-evaluation must also include CVs and a bibliometric analysis of the publishing of your department. In connection with this, all researchers must get an ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) and add publication data to their ORCID.

You need to plan a 3 day site visit for the evaluation panel.
The panel should meet with all groups, see the infrastructure, talk to the PhDs and meet with the management.

Follow up
Once you receive the final report 1-2 months after the site visit, the head of department will be invited to a follow-up meeting with the dean of research.
The evaluation will also be discussed at the next UMV meeting.
Contact between department, central administration and Dean of Research
Your department will be asked to name one administrative person who will act as a contact person between the administration and the department during the entire evaluation process.Stine Work Brodersen is your contact in the central administration and your link to the Dean of Research.
