Walk & Talk routes
Movement during the day can help increase job satisfaction, energize you, make you more productive, and help you stay focused on your work tasks.
Many of us sit for too many hours every day. A walk during the working day can boost your energy level and creative thinking, among other benefits. Several scientific studies have shown that exercise and movement can help prevent stress and lifestyle diseases, etc.
Variation during a sedentary working day can also help prevent musculoskeletal problems in the shoulders, neck, arms, and hands, which, in turn, may lead to, for example, headaches, bad back, and mouse arm syndrome.
One of the activities high on the list of variations is a walk, so why not invite your colleagues to a WALK & TALK meeting.
Five tips for Walk & Talks
- Convene the meeting well in advance, so that the participants have an opportunity to dress according to the weather.
- Decide in advance where the meeting will take place and how far you should walk.
- Walk & Talks function best in small groups or 1:1 meetings. If necessary, take a break at a conversation bench. If you are several participants, you can also try walking in pairs if you have specific topics or questions that you need to discuss. In conclusion, you can sum things up together.
- A walk is not ideal for all meeting situations, for example if you need to make a large presentation or have a personal (difficult) conversation.
- If you need to take notes, you may use an app on your mobile (notes or voice mail/dictaphone).
Walk & Talk routes at Lyngby Campus, Quadrants 1 and 2
There are three Walk & Talk routes in Quadrants 1 and 2. If the concept becomes a success, proposals will also be made for routes in Quadrants 3 and 4 when the work with the light rail system has been concluded.
The start and end of the routes are planned from the parking avenue towards Anker Engelunds Vej and between the two quadrants. The walk can obviously start and end at any point along the route.
- Route A: Quadrants 1 and 2, approx. 2.6 km—approx. 45 minutes
- Route B: Quadrants 1, approx. 1.7 km—approx. 30 minutes
- Route C: Quadrant 2, approx. 1.9 km—approx. 35 minutes
You can convene a Walk & Talk meeting via Outlook
- Convene a meeting as you would usually do.
- Instead of convening a meeting in a meeting room, you convene a Walk & Talk meeting, route A/B/C. Search for the resource with the text ‘walk’ (see the resource names below). Please note that the resource may be displayed as ‘busy’, which you should ignore.
- Remember to write if, for example, you will accompany each other to the path. Attach or refer to the route map in the fact box to the right.
