The DTU Leadership Programme
The DTU Leadership Programme is a programme DTU offers managers at DTU to support the competency requirements expected of managers as part of their DTU leadership role. The programme should be seen as a lever to help the University achieve its declared strategic goals.
The DTU Leadership Programme offers:
- A number of managerial tools that you can use in your own management.
- A cross-organizational network which is a confidential space that can be used for dialogue and mutual inspiration.
- Meetings with your own manager and HR partner to help translate the programme’s content into your own management.
All intermediate managers at DTU are expected to participate in the DTU Leadership Programme.
Form and content
The DTU Leadership Programme consists of six modules during 11 days, spread over about 14 months. A group of about 20 managers goes through the modules, involving teaching, training, discussions and insights based on theory and practice.
Prior to the six modules, DTU invites each manager to a personal interview with an HR management consultant, who offers feedback on a completed personality test (PAPI). This test will provide input to a personal action plan you formulate and work with throughout the programme.
Throughout the programme, the six modules are supplemented by network group meetings, which focus on practices as far as possible. Three of the network meetings are facilitated by an HR consultant.
The programme ends with an exam, consisting of two parts —a group presentation of a prepared case based on an issue from the participants' practice, and a personal reflection report with an individual focus on the personal action plan.
Gains
The content focus will support the competency requirements DTU expects of managers as part of their DTU leadership role.
You will be equipped with basic tools for your management tasks at DTU. The DTU Leadership Programme is also a culture building programme, in the sense that it helps create new connections across the University and a common leadership language within the organization.
