Password for DTU Account

Your DTU account is the account linked to the user administration system DTUBasen. You use your DTU account to log in to many of the systems you access as an employee at DTU. Therefore, multi-factor authentication is required when logging in with your DTU account. You must set this up during your first login.

Follow these guidelines to create a secure password.

Log in with MitID to change your password: password.dtu.dk.

If you have forgotten your password or do not have a CPR number, your DTUBase administrator or the study administration can reset it.

If you experience technical issues, your DTUBase administrator can contact Arcanic support.

After Changing Your Password

We recommend that you perform your first login with the new password while on a DTU campus, as the change will take effect more smoothly.
If you use Eduroam for internet access, you will need to reconfigure Eduroam.

If it is not possible for you to be on campus during your first login, it is important to follow this process:

  1. Log in to the computer using your old password
  2. Log in to your VPN using the new password
  3. Lock the computer
  4. Unlock the computer using the new password

Computers cannot retrieve the new password unless they are connected to DTU’s network. Therefore, if you are outside a DTU campus, you must log in to the VPN so the computer can fetch the information about the new password.
