Student representative (SR)
The function of student representative is handled by students who have the time and willingness to contribute actively to a good learning environment and who are available to their fellow students, so that they can present their wishes and proposals for improvement of the working and learning environment. 1-2 student representatives are members of the Corporate Work Environmental Committee (KAMU), and there are 1-2 student representatives on the Work Environmental Committees in the individual University entities.
A student representative is elected from among and by all students at DTU. Each year, Polyteknisk Forening (PF student association) organizes elections for student representatives.
A student representative handles the students’ interests in relation to ensuring a healthy and safe learning environment, including by:
- Acting as a working environment ambassador who promotes a constructive focus on working environment issues among students. This focus may be on both well-being and physical conditions
- Involving working environment issues and wishes raised by the students in the OHS organization’s work through active participation in Work Environmental Committee meetings. The starting point for a dialogue may—for example—be to inquire about risk assessments for students’ work in workshops, laboratories, fieldwork, etc.
- Informing fellow students about health and safety in the learning environment.
