Registration and handling of accidents and near misses

Any occupational accidents or near-miss incidents that happens during work or studies must be registered in DTU Injury. DTU Injury should not be used in emergency situations – not until afterwards.

What is DTU Injury?

DTU Injury is a simple system for registering occupational accidents and near-miss incidents that happen at DTU. DTU Injury is available as an app and via DTU Inside in English and Danish.

The system is used to gather information on occupational accidents and near-miss incidents in order to take preventive measures. Occupational accidents that lead to absence will be reported to the Danish Working Environment Authority and the Labour Market Insurance.

IMPORTANT: DTU Injury should not be used in emergency situations – not until afterwards. In case of emergency, follow the instructions in the box to the right.

What to do

Consider if there is a need to see a doctor and eliminate any remaining risks at the accident site before you register in DTU Injury. In DTU Injury you will be asked to:

  • Register the place of accident or near-miss incident
  • Briefly describe what happened
  • Upload up to 3 photos (optional)

Download the app in App Store, on Google Play or access DTU Injury in your browser:

After your registration

Upon submission of your registration, you will receive an analysis form that must be completed and returned before 7 days.

All registrations will be communicated to the Work Environmental Committee at your department. They will collaborate with CAS Health, Safety and Environment (CAS HSE) to follow up and learn from the accident or near miss.

  1. Create safety
  2. Assess the situation/the injured
  3. Call for help at 112

DTU Injury app is an easy and simple tool to register injuries and near-miss incidents at DTU (Technical University of Denmark). The app works both in Danish and English.

User data created during installing and only needs to be changed later if users receive new mail or phone number.

The app provides opportunities to describe:

  • Location of the incident. This is also based on the phone’s GPS location
  • Short description to the incident
  • Usage in construction projects
  • Upload up to 3 photos

In addition to registration of incidents the app gives you the option to contact DTU emergency management as well as having a built-in guide to other useful app's in emergency context.

  • 112 app
  • Regions emergency app
  • Police app
  • Trygfondens app (all DTU's AED are registered in Trygfondens data base)

All registrations are processed by CAS HSE and followed up with submission of an injury form and/or incident analysis.
