When you choose to eat at DTU, a number of choices have already been made for you to reduce resource consumption - from kitchen to plate.

  • The selection in the canteens is partly plant-based, but also meet the needs of those who eat meat. There is a focus on reducing the amount of meat in the dishes, and beef has been completely phased out. All canteens and cafés at DTU always have at least one vegetarian option and several also offer vegan dishes.
  • There is a requirement for 60% organic food in the canteens and cafés as well as catering. The fruit ordered for meetings is 100% organic.
  • DTU's canteens have a strong focus on planning menus according to which foods are in season.
  • DTU's canteens and catering partly use a reusable tableware
  • DTU's canteens work actively to minimize food waste
  • There is free tap water in all DTU canteens
  • There is waste sorting in all DTU canteens.
