Conferences

Here we list grants for attending and organising conferences.

Apply for funding for participation in conferences:

  • Knud Højgaards Fond:They support participation in conferences abroad for PhD students and postdocs. They only award grants to Danish citizens.
  • Otto Mønsteds Fond: The Foundation supports conference participation abroad for Bachelor/Graduate students, PhD students and postdocs.
  • Oticon Fonden: As a student you can apply for your active participation in a conference abroad (you have a bachelor degree). 
  • Danish Cancer Society: If you are within the field of cancer research then you can apply for participation in meetings and congresses (primarily for PhD students and postdocs).
  • Thomas B. Thriges Fond: You can apply if your research is within natural science or the vocational field (however, not within the medical, biotechnological or constructional field). 
  • Fabriksejer, civilingeniør Louis Dreyer og hustru Janne Myhrwolds Fond: Support for study/research stays and conference participation abroad, primarily with a focus on production-enhancing purposes. This support is intended for graduates in mechanical engineering and other engineers affiliated with the machinery industry who are under 40 years old and have been educated at DTU or AAU. Employees of DTU or AAU will be given high priority. The foundation does not provide support for M.Sc. or MBA education abroad or for diploma engineers who are already pursuing further studies to become civil engineers.

Apply for funding for arranging a conference in Denmark:

  • Carlsberg Foundation: They support the arranging of international conferences in Denmark. The call is open all year round.
  • Novo Nordisk Foundation: You can apply for a conference, symposia and workshop grant to promote knowledge sharing and networking activities by providing leading as well as younger researchers with opportunities to present and discuss the newest research and innovation activities within their fields. Typical examples of supported events are scientific conferences, innovation days, or student-organized events, all aiming at promoting knowledge-sharing and networking. The scientific themes of the event must be within the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s funding areas, i.e. health sciences, life sciences, natural sciences, technical sciences, and technologies and innovation within these, as well as art and art history research. Event topics concerning sustainability and interdisciplinarity are welcomed.
  • The Danish Cancer Society: The Foundation hosts an annual cancer symposium covering topics within experimental, clinical or epidemiological cancer research. Proposals should be forwarded to the Foundation as soon as possible, but at the latest five weeks before the event takes place.
  • Lundbeckfonden: The purpose of the grant is for the Lundbeck Foundation to support international scientific meetings and conferences, held in Denmark to encourage collaboration and exchange of ideas and resources between Danish researchers and their international peers.
