Childcare days

Guideline

As a parent, you are entitled to two paid childcare days per year per child up to and including the calendar year in which your child turns 7. e child must have “residence” with you, which means the child lives with you or has regular contact with you. Childcare days cannot be taken before the child’s birth and expire at the end of the calendar year.

However, the following childcare days may be transferred to the next calendar year:

  • Childcare days from the calendar year in which the child is born or adopted.
  • Childcare days which you are unable to use because you are on leave in connection with the child's birth or adoption for the entire calendar year.

Childcare days, which are not used, will be transferred automatically at the end of the year.
