Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive is your file drive, stored online. This means the drive follows you if you switch computers and ensures you don’t lose your files if your computer breaks down.

A standard DTU computer already has OneDrive installed, and your OneDrive drive is secured by your login and encrypted.

The Microsoft OneDrive icon shows the sync status of each document. You can read what the individual icons mean here.

If you have a document open, you can continue working on a side-by-side copy of the document while offline. Your new file will be saved locally on your device until it regains internet access. You must remember to transfer your changes to the original document manually.
Files in your OneDrive drive are only visible to you until you share them.
OneDrive has its own language settings, so you need to change the language manually if needed. The language setting also affects the language of the toolbar in, for example, a Word file if the file is stored in OneDrive.
Syncing issues can occur in OneDrive. Contact IT Support for assistance
If you change initials or a student transitions from a student ID to employee initials, sharing issues may arise in OneDrive. When sharing files or folders, they must be shared again. You may experience syncing problems due to the initial change; in that case, contact IT Support for help.
Your OneDrive drive is only for work-related files and must not be used to store private files.
If a file is not synced, there is no backup of the file. If the file has been synced, you can find the backup file.
OneDrive is hosted by Microsoft, which guarantees that all data is stored exclusively on servers within the EU.
