Epoxy

There is risk of serious eczema related in working with epoxy. Therefore there are major requirements regarding workplace interior such as washing conditions, containment and change of clothes.

Gloves and coveralls are to be used when working with epoxy and one has to be very careful regarding hygiene so as one does not expose others to the substance (e.g. on door knobs). Smoking and eating in the area is forbidden.

The substance can be supplied with a code number that tells something about evaporation and risks by inhalation.

Regardless of how much or how little epoxy or isocyanate you use, you have to participate in a 2 day course which gives a “license” to work with the substance. This also applies to people who supervise the work. Students who perform epoxy work must also attend a course. However, you are exempt from the course if you only manufacture epoxy and isocyanates.
