Kemibrug
Kemibrug is a system that supports the administration and overview of chemicals in the workplace, as well as disseminating information about the individual chemicals and their hazard. The system can be used for the statutory registration of chemicals, and it provides supporting material for a risk assessment in the form of instruction-friendly chemical use instructions (KBA) in Danish and English. It is also possible to print labels for chemicals and calculate the classification of mixtures. Kemibrug is physically located at DTU, but is being developed in a collaboration between DTU, KU, SDU and AAU, which runs Kemibrug jointly.
At DTU, there is a decentralized organization in the Kemibrug system, which means that it is decided locally at the university unit who will have access to the chemical database.
The university unit's occupational health and safety coordinator acts as the organization administrator in the database, and thus has the local overview and management in the system.
The role of the organization administrator is to be the university unit's overall contact person regarding Kemibrug and to contribute to the fact that there is always an appropriate organization at the university unit in relation to the assignment of roles in the database. Decisions on the allocation of local administrator rights in the database are made in the university unit's Work Environmental Committee.
The organization administrator can also make other administrative arrangements on behalf of the university unit's Work Environmental Committee, such as hierarchy for storage locations and sub-organizations.
Below is an in-depth description of the organization and roles in Kemibrug.
- Organization Manager - can do everything the others can, as well as create ‘sub-organizations’ and assign the following roles at underlying levels.
- Local administrator - can do everything the others can at their own and underlying levels, can create storage locations and assign others the role of "Local administrator" as well as underlying roles.
- Editor - can create storage locations and chemical records, can see where registered substances are stored and KBA, ad hoc CLP calculator and label designer.
- User with known affiliation - can see where registered substances are stored and KBA, ad hoc CLP calculator and label designer, only read.
- Unknown user - can see KBA, ad hoc CLP calculator and label designer, read only.
