Saving special days of holiday
Saving special days of holiday
Normally, special days of holiday must be taken by April 30 of the following year. However, you have the option to transfer some or all of your special days of holiday into a savings account, where there is no deadline for taking them. You can read the agreement on saving special days of holiday here.
You do not earn more freedom than before, but you gain more flexibility in choosing when to take the holiday. You also still have the option to transfer special days of holiday for use in the following year.
Saving
You can choose to save special days of holiday for use after April 30 of the following year.
You can save a maximum of 15 days in total.
The special days of holiday you wish to save must be recorded in DTU Fusion, where the days are registered, and subsequent the taking of special days of holiday can also be recorded. You can see how to request transferring days to savings here.
You must request transfer to savings no later than September 1 of the year in which the special days of holiday would otherwise have been taken.
Taking saved special days of holiday
You can use the saved special days of holiday in hours or days. There must always be an agreement between you and your manager regarding when the holiday is taken:
- Up to 8 days per calendar year can be taken according to your wishes, if compatible with work requirements. Up to 2 consecutive days can be taken at a time.
- Additional saved freedom, i.e., more than 8 days per calendar year or more than 2 consecutive days, can be taken by agreement.
Please note that the special rules for taking saved freedom apply when you have chosen to save the special days of holiday, not the normal rules for taking special days of holiday, which you can read more about here.
You register the use of saved special days of holiday in Fusion by using the absence type: “Saved freedom – Special holiday (OK24)”.
