Work and residence permit, non-Nordic/EU/EEA/Swiss citizens

Work and residence permits are issued by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI)

Please find information about the work and residence permit process for non-EU citizens:

Illegal residence/work
Please note that you are responsible for obtaining a residence and work permit. It is a condition of your employment at DTU that you always have a valid basis for staying and working in Denmark, and a valid residence and work permit. If DTU has not been involved in your application for a residence and work permit, please send a scanned copy of the permit to ifs@adm.dtu.dk so it can be saved to your DTU file.

If you work in Denmark without a work permit, you risk being liable for a fine, imprisonment up to one year or deportation. Deportation from Denmark means you will be banned from entering all EU and Schengen countries, including Denmark, for a given period.

DTU also faces the risk of a fine or imprisonment when employing someone without a permit/in violation of the conditions of the permit.

Please also be aware that you may need to apply for a dispensation to prevent your residence permit from lapsing or a re-entry permit if travelling abroad during your DTU stay/employment.
