How to order a work phone

At DTU, you can choose between several solutions for a work phone depending on what best suits your needs. You order a work phone through DTU’s product catalogue, and you can read more about your options here:

Mobile phone
At DTU, you have the option to receive a mobile phone as your work phone. Your mobile is managed by the IT Services Department (AIT) in the same way as your work computer. The phone meets DTU’s security requirements, and work-related apps will be available. You can read more about how to set up your DTU email on your work mobile.

If you work in administration, you will receive an Android mobile phone as the standard model. If you want a different model, it must be approved by your immediate manager. If you work at an institute or center, you can choose which model you prefer (Android or iPhone), which is ordered via DTU Fusion.

If you have specific requests for your mobile phone number, you must create a case via IT Support.

If you wish to terminate or transfer your subscription, you must create a case via IT Support.

Digital phone (softphone)
You can choose to have a digital phone (softphone) and get a DTU phone number that is connected directly from your computer via Microsoft Teams or through the Miralix contact center.

If you use Microsoft Teams as a digital phone, you will get a phone number that works both in the application on your computer and in Teams on your mobile. You order the phone number by creating a case via IT Support, selecting the type ‘softphone’ – specify that you want a phone number for Microsoft Teams.

The Miralix contact center is typically used by employees in support functions or departments/institutes that need a shared phone number. It allows, for example, setting up a welcome message or out-of-hours messages as well as call forwarding. You order the phone number for the Miralix contact center by creating a case via IT Support, selecting the type ‘softphone’. Follow the instructions and read more about how to install Miralix on your computer or mobile.

Landline phone
As a DTU employee, you have the option to receive a landline phone as your work phone, either for your office, a meeting room, or a laboratory. You order your landline phone by creating a case via IT Support.

When setting up your work mobile, you can follow Telenor’s general guides for the most current mobile phones.

Once your mobile is set up, you need to install Microsoft 365 and OneDrive to access your documents and drives. You can download both applications from Google Play if you use Android or from the App Store if you have an iPhone. Once downloaded, log in with your DTU account details to gain access.
To set up your DTU email and calendar on your work mobile, make sure the phone is updated with the latest system updates – including the latest Windows update. You can read more about how to get your DTU email and calendar on your work mobile here.
The Miralix contact center is used to forward phone numbers, whether from a digital phone (softphone) or a landline phone. You can find more information in the guide on how to forward your phone number via Miralix on your computer or mobile.
